The refurbishment also included an enclosed play area, treatment and storage rooms, office and multipurpose rooms for family meetings.Refurbishment of the renal unit has improved the accommodation for patients receiving dialysis at the hospital. The unit provides 10 stations for dialysis and an additional three stations for preparing those patients who will self-administer dialysis in their own home—currently 39 per cent of patient receiving dialysis are now home based.Hospital in the Home was initially funded from the community dividend.
